Fish oils are among the unsaturated fatty acids that provide a good calorie balance and are hence a good addition to any nutrition. They are essential substances that the human body is unable to produce itself in sufficient quantities. This is why we are well-advised to add them to our daily nutrition. Various salt water fish, for instance salmon, sardines and mackerel, contain high concentrations of these acids. The fatty acids found in fish are among the active fatty acids. These include among others eicosapentaenoic acid and docosaheexaenoic acid.
